Surgically Altered Hooty and Tooty

Those of you familiar with Lynn Karp 's work may enjoy looking at this second and final page of Jack's only "Hooty and Tooty" story.

The bottom third of the page is quite obviously a Karp-drawn paste-over of Jack's art. I would love to know the reason this was done --- was the story truncated for space reasons, with this being the easiest way to make it fit??
I don't recall seeing this done in any other ACG stories = a different artist doing obvious fix-ups.
